But as the “rushing, rising riv’lets” continued, I started thinking about how happy this was making all my plants outside. I bet they LOVED it! And it was nice to have a cooler day outside too. Thank you, Lord!
"[God] performs wonders that cannot be fathomed,
miracles that cannot be counted.
He bestows rain on the earth;
He sends water upon the countryside.”
--Job 5:9-10
"God's voice thunders in marvelous ways;
He does great things beyond our understanding.
He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,'
and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.'
So that all men He has made may know His work,
He stops every man from his labor…
He loads the clouds with moisture;
He scatters His lightning through them.
At His direction they swirl around
over the face of the whole earth
to do whatever He commands them.
He brings the clouds to punish men,
or to water His earth and show His love."
-- Job 37:5-7,11-13
“Great is our Lord and mighty in power…
He covers the sky with clouds;
He supplies the earth with rain
and makes grass grow on the hills.
He provides food for the cattle
and for the young ravens when they call.”
--Psalm 147:5,8-9
"You heavens above, rain down righteousness;
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide,
let salvation spring up,
let righteousness grow with it;
I, the LORD, have created it.”
--Isaiah 45:8
And last week while commuting home after a summer thundershower, I noticed a beautiful DOUBLE rainbow! I had never seen a double rainbow in person (only on the internet). It was BEAUTIFUL!!! God’s handiwork at its best. :0)
I took a quick picture with my camera phone. It’s hard to see, but there was the darker rainbow below and then a lighter rainbow a bit above it. So nifty!
“And God said…’I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth…Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.’ "
--Genesis 9:12-16
“Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day,
so was the radiance around Him.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD…”
-- Ezekiel 1:28
